When you are suffering from an unexpected illness or injury, or when you simply require general medical attention without waiting for an appointment, we are there for you. Our professional team  is equipped to handle a comprehensive range of urgent medical conditions and injuries, routine illnesses, and general medical services. 

Addictions Counselling

St. James Street Medical Clinic provides counselling for those with addictions. We also provide referrals to those who require different modalities of care. A referral to see our Addictions Counsellor, Dr. Fisher, is required. 

EKG

St. James Street Medical Clinic has an EKG on-site, and is used when deemed necessary by a physician. 

Mental Health

The physicians and staff at St. James Street Medical Clinic are trained in mental health care. Physicians are able to work with patients to find a treatment plan that is suitable; referrals to other mental health professionals are available. If you or someone you know are in crisis, please go to 817 Bannatyne Ave (Crisis Response Centre)

Third Party Physicals

*Fee

A Third Party Physical Exam is usually done at the request of a business or school. It includes a complete physician examination and a variety of tests, including drug testing, blood tests, urinalysis and more.

Asthma Treatment

St. James Street Medical Clinic is equipped to treat asthma attacks with inhalation therapy. We are not able to treat asthma requiring  intravenous therapy.

Mantoux Testing

*Fee

Mantoux testing is often a requirement for students in specific programs, and in other specific circumstances. St. James Street Medical Clinic offers Mantoux testing, for a fee. This service requires multiple visits in a specific time frame. If results are not read between 48 and 72 hours after the injection, the patient will have to restart the process.

Out-of-Province Care

Please note that we require a provincial health card in order to see patients. Patients from out of country or from the province of Quebec will be charged for services rendered. Payment is due upfront, and a receipt will be issued

Well-Woman Care

St. James Street Medical Clinic provides well-woman care seven days a week. We have a GP/OBGYN who cares for pregnancies and does deliveries. This care is provided by referral only. Please note we can order Rh testing and ultrasounds, but these are performed off-site. We do not offer any IVF services, but can provide referrals to access these.

Medical Lab

There is a Dynacare medical lab on-site which is able to provide a variety of blood and urinary testing. More information on the Lab can be found by calling them directly at 204-783-0349.

Pharmacy

Referrals

Physicians at our clinic are able to refer patients to other medical professionals and specialists as necessary.
